How we began our eczema treatment service
A few years ago, our founder Dr. Thomas Anderson began investigating the lived experience of patients with eczema.
Through extensive research, including interviews with hundreds of individuals, he identified the majority were tolerating their condition, having given up on a system that was not addressing their needs.
Patients reported:
- An inability to access specialists
- Generic advice from GPs
- Little contiunity of care
- And a failure to recognise the impacts of the condition
Tend is taking a
different approach.
We understand that by providing easier access to specialist knowledge and care, we can enable people with eczema to take control of their skin.

Dr Thomas Anderson

Dr Thomas Anderson works as a General Practitioner (GP) in South East London. Before starting his GP training, he worked as a research fellow at St George’s University Hospital.
In 2019, he founded Tend Health Ltd, driven by his passion to enhance patient access to quality care. His work with Tend Health Ltd earned him a fellowship on the internationally renowned NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Scheme.
Dr. Anderson currently oversees all patient-facing clinical interactions, including the review of e-consultations and conducting all video consultations.
Dr Gabriela Petrof
Consultant Dermatologist

Dr Gabriela Petrof is a Dermatology Consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She underwent specialist training in London and the West Midlands and completed her PhD at King's College London. She is part of the Nationally Commissioned Highly Specialist Service for Epidermolysis Bullosa at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Dr Petrof is an active member of the British Association of Dermatologists as a committee member in the Medicines Access Working Group and the Dermatology and Genetic Dermatology Group and has served in the Therapy and Guidelines Committee for 7 years.
